How To Make Your Ex Fall In Love With You Again - Top Techniques

So you want to make your ex fall in love with you again. Well, it is possible, but you have to make sure that you go about it in the right way. The proper avenue to take is the one that uses human psychology and understands why we act the way that we do, only then can you understand what makes the opposite sex tick, and what will make them love you again.

In the process of learning to get back your ex, it is very important that you see things from a different angle altogether. At this point in time only one thing seems all important to you: how the two of you can come together again. However, you should be more focused on what your ex needs rather than just concentrating on what you need, this is the trick.

It is most likely that your ex does not want you right now. The very fact that your ex initiated the breakup was because they seemed to have fallen out of love with you. Rest assured that nothing much is going to happen until and unless you can show them that you are worthy of being dated by your ex once again.

Now, how can you make this happen? The only way is to bring back the magic that was there in the early days of your relationship. Everything about the two of you was new and lovely when you were just discovering one another. You need to travel back in time and show your ex that everything can once again become amazing and awesome between the two of you.

Bring Back the Magic of Those Days

Do you still remember the exciting times when you had just met each other and started to go out on dates? Wasn't it purely magical to be with one another? If you are having these feelings, be sure that your ex does too. Your ex also remembers those fun times, those romantic episodes among all the other happy, fond instances, and everything else that marked your happy relationship.

If you have dated for quite a while, it was during those times that you developed strong feelings and the bonding for one another. Your togetherness at every instance bonded you together. Every festive occasion, every birthday, and every ski trip brought you closer as a couple. Now, things do not look as good as they used to be. There have been more instances that both of you would like to forget rather than remember. Whatever took place between the two of you helped to make you forget the fact that together you are a couple of great potential.

Bringing your ex back into your life once again is all about creating a need for you once more. It is not merely enough to pour out to your ex as to how badly you need them in your life; the reunion would be more valuable if you can make your ex want you badly enough than just thrusting yourself into their life.

Make Your Ex Miss You and Need You Again

What is it that you need to do for your ex to miss you? The answer is simple: make yourself unavailable. Subtle detachment techniques will definitely make your ex think more about you. Your ex does not see you in those places they used to in earlier times. Your ex looks around only to find you missing. You are not available easily. You do not call, text or email as much as you used to. Well, there is no option for your ex but to miss you.

At this point it is important to note that using detachment techniques is only half the battle won. You also need to know that it is important to reconnect. You have to make an entry into their lives in a manner that reflects positively. It is, in fact, more than just a little tricky. A detailed plan that guides you as to how to step into the life of your ex and when to do it such that the entry is subtle, smooth and effective is the need of the hour.

If you are still in love with your ex and want them back in your life at the earliest, it is best that you do not take any chances for it is not worth it. Work with a plan in mind and do not make haste. Know exactly what moves you have to make and when you should make them. Just like anything else in life, the more knowledge you have about the problem at hand, you will be equipped to deal with it in a better fashion and work out a neat solution. Working to a plan always improves the odds of your getting back together again.

Love and Hate Are but Divided by a Thin Line

You can, in fact, choose to be a little happy if your ex seems to hate you after the break up. Be assured that this not the worst sign about your ex that you have noticed. Well, not that you want your ex to hate you as it reduces the chances of you coming together. With emotions not under control immediately after a break-up there is not much that you can expect in this situation from your ex. You are right in feeling angry and hurt at the hateful feelings that your ex chooses to show you. But you should be happy that your ex has been significantly affected by the breakup and his feelings for you. Would you have liked it if your ex did not seem to be bothered at all about the entire break-up whatsoever?

Specific actions that you can take at the right time can turn this seemingly obvious hatred of your ex into love once again. It requires that you know what to do exactly and when to do it. It is also a matter of being able to handle your ex's feelings in a sensitive manner.

What To Do Next

It is all about timing and how well you use it to get your ex back. Moving too fast can be threatening with the result that they will try to move further away from you. On the other hand, if you are too slow, you ex may get the feeling that they do not hold your interest any longer. Therefore, it is very important that you know how to handle this situation.

Yet another helpful suggestion is to be able to read the signs ex has moved on. In such a case, going after your ex would be a mere waste of time as they would be no longer interested in you. But make sure that you get the facts right. It pays to observe what your ex says or does so that you do not lose your pride.

You also need to follow advice that is gender specific. You need to be able to get inside the head of your ex and work out how they feel, why they act the way that they do, and what they want from relationships. That is why targeted advice works the best. That being said, guys you will need to read the signs she still loves you. Also, girls you will need to read the signs he still loves you.

Investing Locally

I was sitting in front of my friend Katie?s house, leaving her a note about the new business we?re starting together with some other mothers we know; a literary magazine for parents. She lives in the prettiest part of the neighborhood where I grew up.

I turned and saw a woman whose face looked tired, like a new mom, but familiar. She was pointing out the chickens to her husband and baby. ?Did you go to Cleveland High School?? I asked.

?Sarah?? she said after a startled pause.

It was Jennifer. She?d inherited her grandmother?s house a few blocks away. She and her husband were working on fixing the house while she was on an extended maternity leave from her job in the Bay Area. ?Will you go back?? I asked, imagining how little I?d like to leave this big, old house on a pretty street in a smallish city to an apartment in a big, loud city in California.

?Well,? she said skeptically, ?we?ve heard the job market isn?t very good here.?

Make that job market better

As I?d just finished meeting with a local printer to talk about business cards and swag (he has a friend who will make custom canisters of bubble liquid to give away to our target customers), and was plotting with Katie to open our account at a local bank, as (after all) all of our staff lived within a short bike ride of this branch, Jennifer?s comment jarred me a bit. I don?t see it as bad at all; but then, I?m not looking for a job, I?m trying to make one.

And the thing about doing this is that I?m reaping the rewards of so many investments I?ve made in my community over the decade I?ve lived here as an adult.

Investing local has many variants

The easiest way to invest locally is to simply buy things from locally-owned businesses and use local services. Lots of research has gone into the impact of money spent in the local economy; one Maine study showed that 45% of every dollar spent in locally-owned businesses stayed in the area, while only 14% of every dollar spent in large chain stores stayed in the community.

Another study from Michigan [pdf link] showed that a 10% shift in spending, from national chain stores to local, independently-owned businesses, would result in 1,600 new jobs and a $137 million economic impact on the area.

A San Francisco study showed a similar impact on new jobs and, even more startlingly, found that a 10% shift away from independent retailers toward big chains would cause a loss of 1,300 jobs and almost $200 million in economic activity.

And it?s not just buying locally; even telling others about the great businesses available locally has an impact. Cities with ?Buy Local? campaigns impacted holiday shopping at independent businesses, even in a bad year for the economy at large. The ?Think Local? campaigns also create a shift in behavior and attitude; consumers are more likely to consider their purchase decisions? impact on the merchants involved before making them.

Buying local can be taken a step further by investing in local businesses and artists through ?crowd-funding? campaigns like Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and a crowd (sorry) of new sites coming along to help provide the kind of backing banks won?t provide these days and venture capital firms can?t be bothered with. My editing team and I used Kickstarter to get our first issue financed, and we were thrilled to find that many of our backers came through local connections. Some of them weren?t even our target audience; they just wanted to support a new local venture.

A decision as small as giving your business to a local bank or credit union can impact your local economy. Credit unions and locally-operated banks will turn around and use your deposits and interest payments to loan money to local businesses, further spurring local jobs and the bright economy.

What I?ve learned is that, sometimes, investing locally doesn?t have to be about money at all. I?ve frequently consulted or provided creative help or even just my enthusiasm and emotional support to friends and people whose business ideas I found intriguing. I?ve sat across a table at a coffee shop numerous times and said, ?yes!? and ?wow!? and ?you can do this! People need you!? to someone and then had the great good fortune of watching the thing happen. A few times (not just with my support, of course, but still) I?ve watched the thing create many local jobs.

Back to that job market

I have been kicking myself ever since I talked to that high school friend, wishing that I?d said something other than, ?Oh, you have to meet my friend Katie.? I wish I?d said that this job market was really great for creative and smart people such as herself and her husband. I wish I?d said, ?You can only see this economy in action if you stay here and take part in it.?

I really think that local investment is not just an abstract thing but an everyday decision, and one that you can make in total self-interest. You want that local economy to be strong not just for your own job prospects but for your old friends, and your friends now, and your future friends; for the children whose parents will move here and make friends with your children; for the schools your children will attend and the way they?ll want to return to your city when they grow up and get an education and keep your grandchildren close. (I?m thinking forward.)

If I see Jennifer again, I?ll give her the cheerleading pitch. Maybe she can work at our new magazine; she?ll have to stick around, though. It?s the best thing for both of us.

Dell XPS 15 (Summer 2012)

Competition is tough among manufacturers of premium desktop replacement laptops, with plenty of players vying for the Windows PC market and a growing number moving to Apple products. But while everyone is busy doing their best Apple impression, not every laptop has the performance to back up a premium price tag. The Dell XPS 15 does, thanks to a quad-core Ivy Bridge processor, switchable Nvidia graphics, and a design that is highly refined, if not entirely original. If you're not yet ready to go the Mac route, this could be a solid backup plan.

Design
The Dell XPS 15 has a minimalist design, with a dark all-metal chassis with curves and smooth surfaces that echo the MacBook Pro's unique look. Dell has done its best to distinguish the XPS 15 with a two-tone design of dark metal on the lid and a stripe of bare silver aluminum around the edge, but with the Dell XPS 15 sitting on the laptop testing bench alongside the soon-to-be-reviewed Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch (Mid 2012) and the Editors' Choice Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch (Retina Display) , it's hard to ignore the similarities. In fact, "similarities" may not be strong enough a term?perhaps "uncanny resemblance," "clear inspiration," or "out-and-out clone" would be closer. Dell may not say it in any ads, but it's clear that this is Dell's answer to the MacBook Pro. In fairness, Dell isn't alone in this, as we've pointed out designs cribbed from Apple in other premium desktop replacements, such as the HP Envy 15 (2012) .

Believe it or not, we're not knocking Dell for pulling a page from the Jony Ive design book. In fact, Dell has put a great deal of time and attention into improving the XPS 15's look, and has largely succeeded. Where Apple uses bare aluminum, Dell adds soft touch paint on the palm rest and a silicone panel on the bottom, making the XPS 15 both more touchable and a bit more stable on some surfaces. Apple's unibody design has a hard edge around the palm rest, but Dell softens things with a minute bevel. The backlit chiclet keyboard adds some curvature to the key caps, making for a comfortable typing experience, and the clickpad is coated with the same soft touch paint as the palm rest. All in all, although the XPS 15 looks like an Apple product, it actually feels better.

The 15.6-inch widescreen display offers 1,920-by-1,080 resolution, the same seen on the HP Envy 15 and surpassing the more modest resolutions of the Samsung Series 7 (NP700Z5A-S03) and last year's Dell XPS 15z (Microsoft) , but it can't touch the groundbreaking 2,880-by-1,800 Retina display on the new MacBook Pro. (It's tough to compete with technology that Apple bought with its giant pile of money?but you'll also pay a $500 premium to get it.) The XPS 15 also has solid audio, with Waves MaxxAudio 4 and two integrated two-watt stereo speakers. The only thing you won't get is an integrated subwoofer like the one seen (or rather felt) in the HP Envy 15.

Features
In addition to a quality design, the Dell XPS 15 also offers a full selection of ports. Most are located on the left side of the laptop, with three USB 3.0 ports, a compact Ethernet port, and HDMI and Mini DisplayPort outputs (for monitors and HDTV). On the other side you'll find a card reader (SD/MMC), jacks for both headphones and headset (the latter also doubles as a microphone jack), and a slot-loading optical drive that reads Blu-ray discs and burns DVDs. Above the screen is a Skype-certified 1.3-megapixel webcam, and a dual-mic array provides clear sound while chatting.

Inside its magnesium chassis, the XPS 15 is equipped with 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. If you don't want the hassle of connecting to a TV through the HDMI port, the XPS 15 also offers WiDi 2.0, although you'll need to also use an adapter, such as the Netgear Push2TV ?one normally costs $99, but Dell will bundle it with the XPS 15 for $79. The XPS 15 is available with both traditional hard drives and solid-state drives (SSDs), but our review unit offered an excellent combined solution: a 750GB 7,200rpm hard drive and a 32GB flash memory cache, providing the requisite speed for Intel's RapidStart technology and snappy performance for less money than the cost of a full SSD. It's not as snappy as the 256GB of flash storage found in the MacBook Pro, but it has a considerably larger capacity.

On the hard drive you'll find several programs already installed, including Adobe Reader X, Microsoft Office 2010 Starter, Skype, Internet Explorer, Windows Live Essentials, Wave 4, and a 30-day trial of McAfee Security Center. Instead of the usual one-year warranty, Dell covers the XPS 15 with its Premium Protection plan, which also includes coverage for accidental damage, Lojack for Laptops, remote diagnosis and in-home service, and premium phone support.

Performance
Dell XPS 15 (Summer 2012) Dell has updated the XPS 15 with an Intel third-generation Core i7-3612QM quad-core processor, paired with 8GB of RAM. The new processor provides a significant step up in capability, allowing the XPS 15 to surge ahead of systems equipped with second-generation processors. In Futuremark PCMark 7, the XPS 15 scored 4,003, as compared with the Samsung Series 7 (2,697) and the HP Envy 15 (2,218). It also led in CineBench R11.5, where the XPS 15 scored 5.64, ahead of both the Samsung (4.55) and the HP Envy 15 (2.67), although it fell behind the Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch (Retina Display), which scored 6.18 when tested in Mac OS X. Speedy times in Handbrake (1 minute 23 seconds) and Photoshop CS5 (3:43) showed off the system's multimedia chops as well.

Dell XPS 15 (Summer 2012)

Thanks to an Nvidia GeForce GT 640M discrete graphics processor and 2GB of VRAM, the Dell XPS 15 also has some facility with gaming. It cranked through 3DMark06 with some of the best scores we've seen in this category, scoring 12,458. As for our real-world gaming tests, it tore through Crysis at 74 frames per second (fps) and Lost Planet 2 at 58fps?only gaming-specific laptops did better. By comparison, the Samsung Series 7 fell behind in both Crysis (49fps) and Lost Planet 2 (64fps). Unfortunately, until we test both MacBook Pros with Windows, we don't have benchmark numbers to compare. Given the similarity in hardware, however, they are likely close in performance.

The Dell XPS also benefits from Optimus automatic switching, which allows the graphics processing to shift seamlessly between the Nvidia graphics card and Intel's integrated HD Graphics 4000, making for better energy efficiency without sacrificing graphics quality. As a result, the XPS 15 lasted an impressive 7 hours 28 minutes on our MobileMark 2007 battery rundown test.

Among premium desktop replacement laptops, the Dell XPS 15 is an above-average contender, with top hardware and solid performance. Unfortunately?especially with such a strong physical resemblance to the MacBook Pro?it can't match Apple's Retina display, Thunderbolt connection, and top-tier operating system. As a result, the Editors' Choice Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch (Retina Display) stays on top, but the Dell XPS 15 takes a close second place with strong performance and a much more affordable price. If you're in the market for a premium laptop, the Dell XPS 15 is an easy choice among Windows PCs.

American Sociological Association

WASHINGTON, DC, July 25, 2012 Policies that reward abstinence from terrorism are more successful in reducing such acts of violence than tactics that aim to punish terrorists, suggests a new study in the August issue of the American Sociological Review.

Titled, "Moving Beyond Deterrence: The Effectiveness of Raising the Expected Utility of Abstaining from Terrorism in Israel," the study looked specifically at the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and found that between 1987 and 2004, Israeli policies and actions that encouraged and rewarded refrain from terrorist acts were more successful in reducing terrorism than policies focused on punishment.

"Our argument begins to challenge the very common view that to combat terrorism, you have to meet violence with violence," said Erica Chenoweth, study co-author and Assistant Professor at the Josef Korbel School of International studies at the University of Denver.

The study is the first to empirically evaluate the potential of conciliatory tactics in reducing terrorism. It relies on data from the Center for the Study of Terrorism and Response to Terrorism's (START) Global Terrorism Database (GTD) and from the Government Actions in a Terrorist Environment-Israel (GATE-Israel) dataset. The GTD records global terrorist attacks, including Palestinian terrorist acts, while the GATE-Israel dataset, which the study authors developed, identifies counterterrorism strategies that Israel used against Palestinian targets and places them on a seven point scale from violent acts resulting in death to conciliatory acts involving peaceful gestures.

Examples of Israel's conciliatory tactics that rewarded refrain from terrorist acts included: providing social services to potential terrorist constituencies, encouraging peace talks, withdrawing troops, releasing prisoners, and promoting cultural freedoms.

Israel's repressive and punishment centered attempts to reduce terrorism included: passage of anti-terrorism laws, extension of prison sentences, assassination, deportation, and military retaliation.

The study found these repressive and punishment based methods to be less effective in reducing terrorism. Yet, in an average month between 1987 and 2004, Israel took approximately 18 repressive or punishment based actions against Palestinian targets and less than eight conciliatory actions.

Chenoweth and her co-author Laura Dugan, an Associate Professor in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Maryland, said they hope their findings encourage policymakers to give more consideration to conciliatory actions.

"The general consensus across the political spectrum is that when there is terrorism you have to fight back," Dugan said. "This study suggests that there is value in looking at the grievances, the people most affected by these grievances, and the constituencies of these terrorist organizations."

According to the study's authors, when policymakers focused on improving the living conditions for Palestinian constituents, those same constituents were encouraged not to participate in terrorist organizations and, consequently, terrorism rates fell.

"If the constituency of a terrorist organization no longer supports that organization, then the organization can't thrive," Dugan said.

In addition, Dugan and Chenoweth argue that terrorists do not commit terrorist acts for the same reasons that common criminals commit crimes. Therefore, they believe counterterrorism tactics should not mirror typical crime fighting approaches.

"Strategies that successfully deter common criminals may be ineffective for terrorists," Chenoweth said. "This is because terrorists are generally less concerned about being punished and more concerned about their role in ensuring the well-being of their movement and its constituency."

While Dugan and Chenoweth found conciliatory policies to be more successful than repressive and punishment centered actions in reducing incidents of terrorism, the study authors are not completely opposed to the use of repressive and punishment based strategies.

"We do not recommend that governments adopt purely conciliatory policies," Dugan said.

"Our hope is that this research provides alternatives to solely focusing policy efforts on reducing the expected utility of bad behavior by also considering the value of raising the expected utility of good behavior."

Ross Levinsohn Out At Yahoo - Business Insider

Former interim CEO Ross Levinsohn is leaving Yahoo, Kara Swisher reports.

Levinsohn ran Yahoo's sales, business development, and media divisions.

After Scott Thompson got the boot for lying on his resume, Levinsohn ran the company for a few months.

Many Yahoo insiders, shareholders, advertisers, and industry partners were excited by the prospect of Levinsohn holding the job long term, but Yahoo's board went out and made a very splashy hire ? bringing in a famous ex-Googler, Marissa Mayer.

Now Yahoo is Mayer's show, and she has a different vision for the company than the one Levinsohn had.

He was going to focus on making it the "world's premier digital media company;" her goal is to have Yahoo create products that consumers use once a day.

In an email announcing his departure, Levinsohn says:?

It has been an incredible journey for me and I could not be prouder of what we accomplished over the past few years helping define Yahoo as a leader in digital media and advertising. ? Yahoo is an amazing brand and company, and I leave knowing we did all we could to help inform and entertain more than 700 million users each month. ?Leading this company has been one of the best experiences of my career, but it is time for me to look for the next challenge. ?

Likewise, Mayer has a memo out:

Subject: Thank You to Ross Levinsohn

I am writing to let you know that Ross Levinsohn will be leaving the company at the end of July.

Ross has been an important and powerful contributor at Yahoo since he joined in 2010. During May and June, Ross stepped into an incredibly tough role as interim CEO and did a terffic job ? he really helped keep the company moving, closed important deals, and assembled a very talented team. I am very grateful to Ross for his leadership and work throughout his tenure at Yahoo. His contributions will be missed.

Ross will be in Sunnyvale tomorrow (Tuesday, July 31). Please take the opportunity to drop by and thank him for all he has done for the company. I hope you can join me in wishing Ross well and letting him know how much you?ve appreciated him as a colleague.

Marissa

The biggest question following Levinsohn's departure is whether or not his many reports at Yahoo will follow him out the door. Levinsohn loyalists include business development commando Jim Heckman, ad sales chief Wayne Powers, media leader Mickie Rosen, and new monetization boss Michael Barrett.

Uganda's President pleads to end handshakes amid Ebola outbreak

Uganda's president on Monday warned against shaking hands and other physical contact after the first death from the deadly Ebola virus in the capital Kampala.

"The Ministry of Health are tracing all the people who have had contact with the victims," Yoweri Museveni said in a state broadcast, adding that 14 people had died in total since Ebola broke out in western Uganda three weeks ago.

One person who contracted the virus in western Uganda died in Kampala's Mulago Hospital, Museveni said, calling on people not to shake hands to avoid the spread of the virus.

"Ebola spreads by contact when you contact each other physically... avoid shaking of hands, because that can cause contact through sweat, which can cause problems," Museveni said.

"Do not take on burying somebody who has died from symptoms that look like Ebola -- instead call health workers because they know how to do it... avoid promiscuity because this sickness can also go through sex," he added.

Seven doctors and 13 health workers at Mulago Hospital are in quarantine after "at least one or two cases" were taken there, with one later dying, he said.

The latest outbreak started in Uganda's western Kibale district, around 200 kilometres (125 miles) from Kampala, and around 50 kilometres from the border with Democratic Republic of Congo.

The fatal case in Kampala was a health worker who "had attended to the dead at Kagadi hospital" in Kibale, Health Minister Christine Ondoa told reporters.

She is believed to have travelled independently to Kampala -- possibly on public transport -- after her three-month old baby died, Ondoa added.

World Health Organisation (WHO) spokesman Tarik Jasarevic confirmed the death in Kampala, but noted that "so far no infections have occurred" there.

"I appeal to you to first of all report all cases which appear to be like Ebola, and these are high fever, vomiting, sometimes diarrhoea, and with bleeding," Museveni added.

"When you handle this case well you can eliminate Ebola quickly."

According to experts, despite being extremely virulent the disease is containable because it kills its victims faster than it can spread to new ones.

It has a fatality ratio of between 23 and 90 percent, according to the WHO.

Seven people suspected of having the virus have been isolated in Kigadi hospital, Ondoa said.

The nearest death to the capital previously had been in May 2011 in Bombo, 35 kilometres (21 miles) from Kampala, a city of some 1.5 million people.

The rare haemorrhagic disease, named after a small river in DR Congo, killed 37 people in western Uganda in 2007 and at least 170 in the north of the country in 2000.

However, Museveni said that the virus had not been immediately identified this time, resulting in a delay.

"The bleeding which normally accompanies Ebola did not take place initially among these patients," he said, adding that health workers at first did not therefore realise what the problem was.

"Because of that delay the sickness spread."

Health officials said that the source of the outbreak had yet to be confirmed but that the villages affected were located close to forests famous for several species of primates.

"The site where most of the cases occurred are close to Kibale forest where there are a lot of monkeys and birdlife," said WHO representative for Uganda, Joaquim Saweka, adding that "so far the WHO does not recommend any restriction of movement."

Local communities had initially also delayed reporting the outbreak because "evil spirits" had been blamed, said Ondoa.

Ebola is characterised by the sudden onset of fever, intense weakness, muscle pain, headache and sore throat, often followed by vomiting, diarrhoea and in some cases, both internal and external bleeding, according to the WHO.

It spreads by direct contact with the blood or other body fluids of infected persons.

"I wish you good luck, and may God rest the souls of those who died in eternal peace," Museveni added.

Stay in Style using Fashionable Handbags

Fashionable handbags can modify the way you look. They include that special something to any outfit. Fashion purses and handbags are a great way to compliment look whether you are going to function or to a formal affair. Today, handbags aren?t just for carrying things. They?ve become a cultural obsession and a must-have item for every single woman. Handbags make a statement about you individuality, taste, mood, and magnificence. With so many different designs, styles, and manufacturers on the mark, it could be tough choosing the best handbag for you. There are a few essential tips to consider that might make looking for the perfect carrier for your style and much easier.

Check out exactly what everyone else is wearing. A lot like stylish clothes, fashionable cheap handbags Gucci change every season. To look your best, you have to buy a handbag that?s in style. Designers as well as runways don?t constantly decide on what the most trendy handbags will be this year. Most of the time, women make that decision. One of the ways that other people judge whether you are stylish or not is by checking out the bag that you have on. Next time you are in a community place like the local mall, look at what women around you are putting on. Chances are that you?ll see a single bag design, coloration, or pattern in which seems to be a trend.

Keep your budget and financial situation in mind as you shop. As you probably already know, some fashionable handbags are very high priced. The exact price will depend largely on the brand. Brands like Mentor, Louis Vuitton, or Chanel cost twice your payroll check. Some women seem like they have to spend a lot on a handbag to look good. That?s not necessarily real. Don?t feel like you must spend a ton of dollars just to have the same carrier that celebrities are usually wearing. They make millions a year and can manage to splurge. There are many inexpensive fashion handbags that still utilize current models and look great along with any outfit.

Whenever you are considering purchasing a bag, ask yourself whether it would look good with your closet. Think about the color you wear most. Whether it?s something neutral just like white or black, you can get just about any color or design you want. Just keep away from brown or navy blue. If your wardrobe can be colorful, you might want to look for bags that are neutral-colored such as beige, black, or white. Also think about what kind of material you enjoy. Most people buy leather-based handbags, but there?s also great handbags created from other materials such as natural cotton or even acrylic.

Just what matters most when you find yourself looking for fashionable totes is how you feel using them. Before you buy a handbag, picture how it would look with your outfits, and think about precisely how you?ll feel donning it. The right handbag could make you feel sophisticated, trendy, and confident.

Intimacy and Desire In Lesbian Relationships | Alex Karydi ? The ...

I read a wonderful book over the last week that really put a lot of things in perceptive for me, regarding intimacy and desire. I wanted to share some of the information, and hopefully shed some light into how we lose ourselves in our relationships and forget to grow.

Schnarch (2009) in his book ?Intimacy & desire: Awaken the passion in your relationship? argued that couples through history, regardless of culture and sexual orientation, go through marital impasses, and that our relationship hurdles are a natural path to self-growth and bonding. There is a systemic interaction and impact between what he describes as ?Low Desire Partner? (LDP) and ?High Desire Partner? (HDP) in intimate relationships.

It is the amount of interest we have in different areas of life that defines our desire level and, it is not exclusive to sex but also money or children. Therefore, there is an LDP and a HDP on nearly every issue and decision in an intimate relationship. For example, both partners may want sex weekly but the HDP may want sex more days or times in a day than the LDP, who may want it once a day.

The HDP wants to do something that the LDP does not to do or the LDP wants to do it less. Even if both partners desire the same thing, there is always one partner who wants it more. It is this difference in energy in couples that is responsible for conflicts and struggles, which unsuspectingly drives both to grow, or as Schnarch (2009) defined as ?co-evolving.?

The positions of LDP or HDP shift on different issues within the relationship. For example, one partner may be the HDP for sex and intimacy, but the other partner could be the HDP for being monogamous or disciplining the children. According to Schnarch (2009), whatever the issue that is being addressed in the relationship ? whether it is sex, moving in together, visiting in-laws ? there will be a HDP and LDP partner and this is regardless of culture and personal circumstance.

Understanding this concept is valuable when discussing sexuality, as it allows a non-pathological examination of problems related to sexual desire within a relationship. It also clarifies the possible misunderstanding that being the LDP does not mean there is no or almost no sexual desire, rather less energy is emphasized in that area. Understanding sexual desire in the context of this theory assists couples in realizing that being LDP or HDP is not a negative character trait and decreases defensiveness about the differences in level of sexual desire.

In terms of one?s sexuality, this concept of sexual desire supersedes the role of hormones and sex drive. Schnarch (2009) argued that our sexuality and desire are driven by our need to feel wanted; unfortunately, this relies greatly on our partner?s behavior. Therefore, we have given control and surrendered our sexual desire and needs of our partner, whether we are consciously aware of it or not.

The Low Desire Partner in any relationship always controls when and how sex happens. Schnarch (2009) argued that whether things in the relationship were going great or not, the LDP controls sex. This will not change, even with improvement within the relationship. The difference is that happier couples handle the disappointment better. The relationship suffers when the HDP takes the rejection and feelings of disappointment personally, and become defensive and bitter towards their partner. This creates an environment where the LDP begins to feel inadequate and defective, and the HDP partner, who feels punished, may reinforce these feelings by blaming the LDP for their sexual discomfort or lack of sex (Schnarch, 2009).

At the beginning of a relationship the LDP controls sex, though they are not always aware of this or want the control. However, eventually over time, the LDP may begin to want to withhold and punish their HDP because of the assaults (emotional and verbal) they endure over their ?lack of sexual energy? in comparison to their partner. The reason that LDPs control sex is that they rarely, if ever, have to initiate sex. The HDP wants sex more and will initiate more often, but the LDP, again, decides which sexual overtures they will respond to, which in turn determines when sex happens.

Although the HDP initiates the frequency, timing, or style of sex, all the LDP has to do is hesitate and regain control again of the interaction (Schnarch, 2009). For example, a HDP may propose or initiate oral sex but if the LDP nonverbally suggests disapproval, the sexual behavior will cease. The HDP, out of fear of being rejected from all other sexual activities or being punished for an extended amount of time without sex, will refrain from upsetting the LDP (Schnarch, 2009). The HPD motto, out of desperation, becomes ?something is better than nothing.?

The control is reinforced by the HPD, who becomes frustrated by the lack of control and feelings of discomfort, begins to attempt to change their LDP into more of what they assume to be ?normal? sexual activity and behaviors. This vicious cycle of power and control wears away the level of intimacy in a relationship and partners begin to feel less attractive to their mate or feel that they are ?growing apart.? Schnarch (2009) argues that this cycle of power and control is a natural process in relationships and through an evolutionary process will strengthen attachment to our mate and intensify sexual desire and intimacy.

The hurdles arise in order for us to confront ourselves and strive for personal growth; this will not only make us a better person but a more powerful lover. The realization of one?s inner strength is by gaining a view that sees sexual desire as a system, and marriage as a ?people-growing machine? driven by differentiation over millions of years (Schnarch, 2009).
We become so frightened by our relationships and how they define us that we lose our own integrity of who we are, and what we want.

How can any women became sexually confident and excited if she does not know who she is?

Its not only California that has eye Candy Glenn you need to pay a ...

What is life without a little friendly neighborly rivalry.

Well this is not Pennsic wars but i thought a bit of something to take your mind and eyes off the Olympics and sports or Pennsic Wars was in order.

So last week i took a quick detour on my outing and snapped some pics of my local lumber yard.

The place changed owners in December and boy you can see the difference.

So eat your heart out Glenn and bring the pickup.

Here are loads of pics of some of the sections of this place.

They do the following

1) Huge selection of both local and foreign lumber
2) Turning section with blanks for pens bowls and burls
3) Slabs of all sorts from boules to just one off to custom glue ups all sanded and cut to size
4) For hobbyists a huge shorts section with loads of stock to sift through and not just local either.
5) For contractors they do clear pine for moulding, pine tong and groove for flooring etc and pine beams in cant form.
6) They stock natural thick cut slabs of all sorts i tried to snap a selection.
7) They make pallets and have a machine shop i tried to snap only one of their planers
8) Last but not least they have a stock of Ipe Cedar and Pressure treated lumber for decking boys.

So if ever there was a one stop shop lumber shop this is it.

Oh and they dont mind cutting off a foot or two if the piece is over 8ft long.

I got my eye on a Padauk slab from the boule cut that i showed before at the time of the Lie Neilson tool even taking place there. I got a price this time and the one i show in these pics is $240 which i dont think is bad at all for an 8 ft x 2 ft by 5/4 slab of padauk. Problem is what to do with it. I just feel this is one of those things one needs to grab while the going is good and hold onto it.

If anyone wants thick wood this is THE place. as you can see from a few quick cell phone happy snaps.

I only had a few minutes to spare to get around the place so forgive the pics etc just wanted to do some bragging of what we have in the great white (hot) north.

Creative landscaping with native plants and rock gardens offer a way to capture rain and (as Santa Cruz, California says) ?Slow it. Spread it. Sink it.? Photo courtesy Landscape East & West

For those of us experiencing drought, a post about storm water solutions may seem ironic. But think again: With the earth parched and dry, when rain does come, we desperately need that water to stay. If we don?t act now to retain the much-needed rain when it does come, it will run off and do us little good. Wherever you live, what can you do now to preserve the rainfall that inevitably will return? Please read and consider. ~Julia Wasson, Publisher

Rain happens. Apart from blessing it for watering our plants ? or cursing it for keeping us indoors ? many homeowners don?t think much about where all of that water goes once it hits our property. However, as our neighborhoods become increasingly covered with impervious surfaces (roofs, patios, roads and driveways), that needs to change.

Roofs and other impervious surfaces change the way rainwater behaves, increasing the volume of runoff and accelerating the rate at which it flows through our local watersheds. This ultimately leads to erosion of stream banks, degraded wildlife habitats and the introduction of pollutants picked up along the way.

If you want to make your home more Earth-friendly, one of the most significant things you can do is incorporate storm-water management techniques into your landscape. By combining some of these methods, you can help diffuse the runoff from your home in order to minimize its impact on the environment. Or, as eco-conscious cities such as Santa Cruz, Calif., put it: ?Slow it. Spread it. Sink it.?

1. Plant Trees

The simple act of planting more trees on your property will provide manifold storm-water benefits down the road. Not only do trees capture and store rainwater in their leaves and branches, but they also improve water quality by acting as a filter and holding soil in place so less sediment enters the water stream. In a small storm, trees can reduce runoff volume by as much as 35%, and a single mature tree with a 30-foot crown can intercept more than 700 gallons of rainfall every year, according to the Bureau of Environmental Services in Portland, Oregon.

To maximize the environmental impact of your trees:

  • Position them so their canopy covers impervious areas, such as patios and driveways, where they can capture the water before it reaches the ground.
  • Include evergreens, which will intercept more water in winter than their deciduous counterparts.

2. Minimize Impervious Surfaces

You can reduce the amount of impervious surface area on your property by replacing concrete patios, walkways and other high-traffic surfaces with permeable pavers. Unlike concrete, permeable pavers have gaps that allow storm water to pass through and soak into the ground. They?re so effective they can reduce (and in some cases eliminate) the need for an underground storm drain system.

Other tactics for reducing impermeable surfaces around your home:

  • Replace the center of your driveway with mulch or grass, leaving only two strips of pavement to accommodate your car?s tires.
  • Use mulch or gravel for low-traffic areas of your landscape and turf block for medium-traffic areas.

3. Collect Roof Runoff

In many developed cities, roofs cover 20% or more of the total surface area ? which means they account for a significant chunk of storm runoff. On a day with ? inch rainfall, a 1,000-square-foot roof will yield more than 300 gallons of rainwater. Instead of letting this water flood into the local sewer system, you can install rain barrels at each of your home?s downspouts to capture and store your relatively clean roof runoff for use around your property.

4. Build a Rain Garden

A rain garden (a shallow depression in your yard filled with water-loving plants) will capture much of your home?s runoff and allow it to slowly sink into the ground. When designed well, such a feature can dramatically reduce the volume and flow rate of storm water. When planning your rain garden, consider the following:

  • Rain gardens should be planted at least 10 feet away from your home?s foundation. You can use downspout extensions to send roof runoff directly to your rain garden.
  • Design your rain garden so it drains within 30-48 hours after a rainfall in order to prevent mosquitoes from breeding.

These are just a few of the many storm water solutions you can apply to your home.

Joe Taslim Joins Fast Six

Director Justin Lin and his Fast And Furious casting team are continuing to sweep the world for interesting performers and have been cherry picking people from all sorts of movies. The latest addition is Indonesia?s Joe Taslim, who might be more than a little familiar to those of you who thrilled to the kick-ass antics of The Raid earlier in the year.

Taslim will play a villain named Jah in Fast Six (or whatever it ends up being called), a cold-blooded killer who employs both martial arts manoeuvres and some serious parkour abilities to battle Vin Diesel and co. Sounds like a good choice to us!

As well as Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez and Dwayne Johnson are all returning for this outing, which also adds franchise newcomers Gina Carano and Luke Evans.

Universal is keeping the plot a secret for now, but apparently Diesel?s usual gang of thieving / driving types will go up against Evans? squad when they both target the same job.

Lin is cranking the cameras now and the movie will screech into cinemas on May 24 next year. If it's even half as demented as Fast Five, we will be there with bells on.
