According to Jean-Baptiste Query (JBQ), Google?s Technical Lead of the Android Open Source Project, the Android giant selected the Sony Xperia S because:
?it?s a powerful current GSM device, with an unlockable bootloader, from a manufacturer that has always been very friendly to AOSP.?
Google?s Nexus range are the first to receive the latest Android updates and for Sony Xperia S users, receiving timely updates to vanilla Android will be sure to make the handset a nicer proposition.
